Steps for solving word problems:-

1) The problems are to be thoroughly read
2) The information given is to be listed and what is asked in the problem is to be clearly understood. An equation is to be formed with the information given. While forming equation key words are to be correctly noted for defining the correct operation like addition/subtraction/multiplication/division.
3) The equation is to be solved for knowing the variables.
